Imagine that you are a child with cerebral palsy and for the first time there is a place where you can play along with the other kids... Or that your mother can join the family picnic with her grandchildren, at a shelter that accommodates her wheelchair... A park where we all play...Monroe County Access to Recreation is working to make it a reality.
Monroe County Access to Recreation has three goals:
 1. Design and begin building a multiphase, accessible recreation area at Karst Farm Park, the Karst Playscape. The splash pad is open and the first playground will be complete this summer... now we are onto Phase II!
2. Build awareness of and commitment to accessible recreation in Monroe County.
3. Provide ongoing funding for accessible recreation projects through the Monroe County Access To Recreation Endowment at the Community Foundation of Bloomington and Monroe County.

Get Involved!
Here are some of the ways you can get involved with Monroe County Access to Recreation.
Donate! Give to the Endowment and Build Funds. While the first phase of the Playscape is built, there is much more we can do with the space at Karst Farm Park, and we'll need funds to implement the bright ideas that come forth. Additionally, endowment gifts always make a difference.
Volunteer! To get involved in developing Phase II of the project, drop an email to karstplayscape@yahoo.com.
